Beginning in 2006, the Woodcroft Women’s Club has been collecting donations for DCRC. The shelter provides a safe place for women and children of domestic or sexual violence. The DCRC shelter houses over two hundred women and children every year, requiring many items to keep the household running. DCRC relies on gifts from the community to make stays at the shelter as comfortable as possible.
New and gently used household items are always needed for the home including:
- Domestics (sheets, blankets, towels, kitchen items)
- Small Kitchen Appliances (coffee pots, blenders, toasters)
- Paper Products (paper towels, napkins, toilet paper)
- Cleaning Supplies
- Baby Items
- Clothing for Women and Children

At the November meeting, we will accept donations for the Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC) which provides emergency shelter assistance to victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
As in past years, DCRC would really appreciate help with Christmas/holiday gifts for moms and children. Denielle V. needs to deliver these by December 18, so please bring items to the November meeting, if possible. Otherwise, call or text her to coordinate in early December.
For children, please bring new: Puzzles, Coloring books, and Board games
For moms, please bring new: Gloves and Scarves
Urgent current daily needs are: Toilet paper and Paper towels
Thank you all so much for your continued donations and support!!
