This is the group for you if you want to get out and have fun exploring the Durham area and beyond while making new friends. We have previously visited the Honeysuckle Tea House, toured the Videri Chocolate Factory, took in the sights at the NC Chinese Lantern Festival, toured the Duke Lemur Center, made a trip to the local gardens … and much more! We have a scheduled outing once per month. Your suggestions for activities are always welcome.

We meet at the Woodcroft Professional Building to carpool. We leave as soon as all that have confirmed to attend have arrived or 10 minutes after the scheduled meeting time.

May is going to be a fun month for us explorers!

Thursday, MAY 16th at about 10/10:30.We will be heading down to 1267 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary to check out the nearby version of Seagrove Pottery. From there, whoever wants to, can head on over to one or two interesting restaurants in the area.  There's Totopos which is said to serve the most authentic Mexican street food in the triangle, or Sassool for very good casual Mediterranean food.  For a lighter meal or dessert, there's Duck Donuts or the Ashworth Drugs Old Fashioned Soda fountain.  Duck Donuts are famous from the Outer Banks, and The Ashworth soda fountain has great milkshakes, hot dogs, old fashioned sandwiches and Ice Cream Sodas. All of these places are within a few blocks of each other, except for the Ashworth soda fountain which is about a mile away.  We can set up carpools based on who is interested in going where. Please RSVP to Amy B by 5:00pm Monday, May 13th if you would like to be included in these plans.  When you RSVP, please include if you would like to also explore any of the restaurants mentioned above.
