Welcome

Our next General Meeting is January 22, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.

Woodcroft Professional Building
5501 Fortunes Ridge Dr, Suite K
Durham, NC 27713

Our theme this year is: PAY IT FORWARD
In line with this year’s theme, we hope to have the concept of caring, compassion, and communication as the base for our
speakers to help pay it forward.

OUR SPEAKER FOR OUR JANUARY MEETING:

Our Speaker for January is Ms. Robin Kirk who will be providing us with information about DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) which is in the news these days.  She will be accompanied by a DACA recipient who is a Sophomore at Duke.

Ms. Kirk is the Faculty Co-Chair of the Duke Human Rights Center at the Franklin Humanities Institute and is a founding member of the Pauli Murray Project, an initiative of the center that seeks to use the legacy of this Durham daughter to examine the region’s past of slavery, segregation, andcontinuing economic inequality.  An author and human rights advocate, Kirk is a lecturer in the Department of Cultural Anthropology and directs the Human Rights Certificate.

See you in the New Year!

Come join us for our General Meeting at "Sweet Kay."

Check out the new tab "Pay It Forward" under Community Service!

Monthly SILENT AUCTIONS at the general meetings will continue this year. Eva M will bring new or nearly new items donated to the Club and display them as silent auction items. We hope you will come a few minutes earlier than normal so you can see what is available. Bring cash or checkbook and bid on some items.

Here's a great reason not to cook on a Tuesday evening!  Plus you will be able to Pay It Forward at the same time.   We are holding a fundraiser for Durham Rescue Mission on Tuesday January 23, 2018.

The fundraiser will be at Marco's Pizza, 1125 W. NC Highway 54, Suite 406, and Marco’s will donate 15% of all orders to the Durham Rescue Mission. Tell everyone you know - when they order - to say they are supporting our fundraiser! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Eileen G, Denise S, or Amy B.
