Biodiversity Begins at Home: A Pioneering Project in Durham's Woodcroft Subdivision

A strong interest in native plants and the problem of invasive plants led to the June 2019 co-founding of the Eco-Friendly Landscape Committee in Lynn's south Durham neighborhood, Woodcroft. Ms. Richardson was elected to the Woodcroft Community Association board in 2020, where she leads the effort to control invasive plants on the neighborhood’s common lands.

Many thanks to our March guest speaker, Kristin Cooper,First Lady of North Carolina who generously spent time with us sharing information about her life, projects, and passions.  We look forward to a future visit to the Governor's Mansion to view the gardens and home.
